Jamir Garcia’s wife speaks up on Slapshock frontman’s death

Jaya Garcia, the wife of Slapshock frontman Vladimir “Jamir” Garcia, has broken her silence following the death of the OPM rock icon.

Netizens and the rock community earlier expressed shock and grief over the passing of Jamir who was found lifeless at his home in Quezon City on Thursday morning. He was 42 years old.

Jaya on Friday thanked those who sent their prayers and messages of sympathy to their grieving family.

“Dear Family and Friends, I receive all your messages and I’m grateful for all the prayers, concerns, condolences, and sympathies we receive,” Jaya wrote in her and Jamir’s joint Facebook account.

“Ramdam namin ang inyong pakikiramay at pagmamahal. Maraming Salamat,” she added.

She also asked for understanding as she couldn’t reply to each of the outpouring messages of love and support online.

Jaya went on to ask privacy and prayers for her family as they go through this “most difficult time”.

“As our family goes through this very tough time, may I request that you give us time to privately grieve and mourn for our beloved JAMIR momentarily. And as respect for Jamir, may I request you to please hold on all the good memories of Jamir in your hearts.

“Please continue to pray for our family for healing and strength as we go though this most  difficult time. Thank you.”

No other details were provided in the post.

However, earlier on Instagram, Jaya posted a moving message addressed to her late husband.

Jaya also went emotional in a Facebook live on Friday as she tried to address and defend her husband from the reported issues made against him shortly before he died. She also thanked the fans, who call themselves the Slapshock armies, who believed in her husband.
