‘Let Women Do It’: Cher tweets support for Leni Robredo

Vice presidential aspirant Leni Robredo has found support in American pop icon Cher after she made tweets about the only female presidential candidate. 

On Tuesday, February 14, Cher tweet wrote in a tweet: “IF YOU WANT IT DONE

RIGHT….LET A WOMAN DO IT,” alongside emojis. 

A Robredo supporter quoted Cher’s tweet using Robredo’s campaign hashtag #LetLeniLead which has since caught the attention of the singer.

“Who’s this?,” Cher replied to the tweet, asking who VP Leni was.

In another tweet, Cher reiterated: “Excuse Don’t Know Leni.” 

The 75-year-old later learned about who Leni is upon a tweet by another Robredo supporter introducing the latter as the “current Vice President of the Philippines and soon to be our President! 💗”.

In capital letters Cher exclaimed in response: “BRAVO!! LET WOMEN DO IT!!”

She continued, “LET LENI,& ALL WOMEN FIGHTING 2 SAVE CLIMATE CHANGE, CHILDREN, ELDERLY, Poor, HOMELESS,SICK,PPL OF ALL COLORS,ETHNICITIES, LGBTQ.FORCE HONOR IN GOV.MAKE MEDICAL CARE,EDUCATION CHILDCARE FREE. TAX CORPORATION,STOP CHILD LABOR.ANIMAL CRUELTY,ETC.”

Drawing cheers from Robredo supporters, Cher’s tweet has since made her on top of Twitter’s trending topics, alongside hashtag #LetLeniLead.
