Keith Martin, the man behind the hit song Because of You, has died at the age of 55.
The American singer-songwriter and producer was found dead at his condominium unit in Quezon City on Friday morning, said a report from The Philippine STAR.
Initial police report said a resident alerted the building’s property manager about a foul smell at the condominium building which they later traced to Keith’s unit.
Authorities who responded to the scene discovered Keith’s lifeless body on his bed.
Keith’s good friend, former Viva hot babe Sheree Bautista, meanwhile confirmed the passing of the R&B singer in an interview with Pep.
Sheree said that Keith reportedly had been dead for almost a week but the autopsy results have yet to be released.
According to Sheree, she advised Keith to see a doctor after the latter told her that he was not feeling well when they last met. The two just recently collaborated in Sheree’s YouTube vlog.
Sheree added that Keith has no other family or relatives living in the country and broke up with his Filipina girlfriend late 2021.
Condolences poured in the comments section of Keith’s last Instagram post dated last February 7.
Local music artists also mourned the death of Keith and paid him tribute on social media.
