Grammy nominated singer-songwriter Olivia Rodrigo is definitely proud of her Filipino roots.
The 18-year-old, whose fame skyrocketed just a year ago with the song Drivers License, isn’t just making waves in the music industry, but in the Filipino community as well.
When asked about being able to represent both sides of her ancestry, she gushed over the support she has received from her Pinoy fans.
“It’s amazing. I feel so proud to be part of the Filipino community and they’ve been so lovely and are so welcoming and supportive of me,” she said in an interview on Good Morning America.
In a past interview with the Southeast Asian press just a year ago, she expressed how excited she is to hopefully visit the Philippines.
“I really wanna go visit one day so I’m really hoping that I can come to the Philippines sooner rather than later. I hear it’s amazing and I can’t wait to meet all my Filipino fans,” she said.
Olivia is set to release her own documentary film, Driving Home 2 U, on Disney+. Special behind the scenes moments of her songwriting process and her launch to stardom will be featured in her “sour” film.
