Mother from Batangas receives P500,000 from seven children for 77th birthday

This mother from Lemery, Batangas celebrated her 77th birthday last January 24.

To make her day more memorable, her seven children planned something for her. Nanay Belen thought that she would have a simple celebration.

She received two cakes, two boxes of money, two money bouquets, and one umbrella money!

Nanay Belen couldn’t contain her happiness while opening her gifts!

In the end, Nanay Belen received more than half a million cash!

“We believe parin naman na its not the monetary value na makakapagpasaya sakanya, pero kahit paapaano masurprise man lang siya, masiyahan siya,” uploader and son Sherwin Mulingtapang said.

“Usually kasi ‘yung iba nagaambagan lang para makuha ‘yung P77,000 so sabi namin lahat naman able tayo as magkakapatid. Para mas ano pa ‘yung happiness. Per anak, nak, nag P77,00 kami. Kaya umabot yung suprise namin ng morethan half million. We made sure din na iba’t ibang pakulo” he shared.

Six of Nanay Belen’s children are staying in the Philippines, while the other one is based abroad.

He described Nanay Belen as a generous and loving mother to their family.

Sherwin said they wanted to surprise her to show appreciation for taking care of them after their father died in 2009.

At her age, she remains healthy and manages their family business.

Sherwin said he did not expect that the video would go viral. “‘Yung iba talaga nainsipire na sana daw magawa din nila sa kanilang magulang. Pero which is samin naman nakakatuwa.”

Sherwin reminded the public that giving expensive gifts or money to their parents is not mandatory.

“Hindi naman kinakailangan na ganun ka bongga, or  hindi rin naman talaga nasusukat sa monetary value ‘yung pagmamahal natin sa mga magulang. If hindi natin kaya, wala naman problema. Maging mabuting anak na lang tayo at napakalaking bagay na ‘yun sa ating mga magulang. Pero if meron naman tayong means, meron tayong sobrang pera, minsan nakakapagbigay ligaya din naman ito sakanila,” he stressed.

Sherwin said that they initially planned a grand birthday celebration for Nanay Belen’s 75th birthday two years ago.

But the eruption of Taal Volcano affected their hometown Lemery, Batangas.

They had to postpone the party as they needed to evacuate to a safer area.

“Nagiisip siya birthday na niya ang lapit na niya pero nasa evacuation pa kami. Seeing the situation of other people, naawa ‘yung mom ko tapos sabi niya ‘yung budget for that birthday ipamigay na lang namin sa mga nangangailagan, sa mga evacuees,” he recalled
